Growing Spiritually

Adult Education

The Episcopal Church of the Holy Family offers Adult Education on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am in the Parish Hall. Drawing on the three legged stool (scripture, tradition and reason) of the Episcopal tradition, recent courses have included discussions of current books and other subjects of interest. For information on our current topic and upcoming events, please see the Touchstone.

The Episcopal Church of the Holy Family also offers periodic book studies in the evenings at 5:00 on Zoom. We also offer Wednesday night studies during Lent.

For information on connecting through the Zoom meeting for Adult Education and other classes and discussion groups, contact the church office at 770-893-4525.

Education for Ministry (EFM)

Education for Ministry (EfM) is a unique four-year distance learning certificate program in theological education based upon small-group study and practice.  EfM helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study, worship, and engage in theological reflection together.

Holy Family began participating in the program in 2009 and has maintained an active group since that time.  Byron Tindall, a Priest Associate at Holy Family, mentors the program.  Persons interested in participating in this study group at Holy Family may contact the church office at 770-893-4525.

Daughters of the King (DOK)

The Daughters of the King is a religious order that was founded in 1885 and includes members from the Episcopal, Anglican, Lutheran (ELCA) and Roman Catholic faiths.  While the Daughters of the King is organized as a religious order we do not live in an enclosed community.  A period of training is required to join Daughters of the King.  Each Daughter takes a lifetime vow to live by the Rule of Life (daily prayer, service and evangelism).

We welcome any adult female members of the Church of the Holy Family, any Daughter-at-Large, or Daughters belonging to another church to join us at one of our monthly meetings, which is the second Wednesday of each month in the Parish Hall at 10 am.  For more information, please call the church office and leave your name and phone number.  Someone will return your call and answer any questions you might have concerning Daughters of the King.
